lima - paracas
The designation of "the city of the kings" for Lima is due to the celebration of the Three Kings, which had recently taken place. Following the defeat of the Incas, Lima became the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru, from where the Spanish ruled over the Peruvian territory. The Spanish conquistadors also extended their dominion over most of South America.
